Wuhan 3 - Day Travel Guide
Day 1: Wuchang District
- Morning:
- Start your day early by heading to Liandao Street for breakfast. Try the popular local snack youbing bao shaomai (fried cake with dumplings) and reganmian (hot dry noodles), which are favorites among locals.
- Afternoon:
- Visit the Hubei Provincial Museum. It's recommended to reserve the whole morning for this place as it houses a vast collection of historical relics, including the famous Marquis Yi of Zeng’s bronze bells. Remember to book in advance (tickets are free, but reservations are required), and the museum is open from 09:00 - 17:00, with entry not allowed after 16:00.
- After the museum, take a short trip to the nearby East Lake Greenway. You can rent a bike, take a walk, or take photos. The scenery is beautiful, especially during sunset.
- Evening:
- Head to Shahu Forest for a stroll and then to Hubu Alley and Simenkou for dinner. Explore the various street foods, but note that some stalls might be over - priced, so choose wisely.
- End your day by watching the sunset at the Yangtze River Bridge and the night view of the Yellow Crane Tower.
Day 2: Hankou District
- Morning:
- Wake up early and go to Gude Temple to take photos. The temple has a unique architectural style that combines Chinese and foreign elements. Tickets cost 13 yuan, and it's open from 08:00 - 17:00, with entry not allowed after 16:00.
- Then, go to Wuhan Tiandi for coffee and try snacks near Wuhan No.2 Middle School.
- Afternoon:
- Visit Shanhaiguan Road, a famous food street. Try local specialties like jiguan jiao hulatang fen (chicken crown dumpling with thick soup noodles) and fried noodles with a lot of wok hei.
- Take a walk on Lihuangpi Road, which is full of historical buildings. The Bagong Houses here are quite distinctive and even offer photo - taking services.
- Explore Tongxingli and Taixingli, where there are many vintage shops and cafes worth checking out.
- Walk further to the Pinghe Packaging Factory. On sunny days, the top floor is a great place to take photos with the clock tower.
- Evening:
- Continue to Jianghan Road, the longest pedestrian street in Wuhan. Admire the buildings, including a golden version of the Yellow Crane Tower - like building.
- Walk to Wuhan Customs House and see the century - old clock tower.
- Finally, go to Hankou River Beach to relax and end your second day with dinner.
Day 3: Hanyang District
- Morning:
- Visit Guiyuan Temple in the morning. Tickets are 10 yuan on regular days and 20 yuan on festivals, and it's open from 08:00 - 17:00, with entry not allowed after 16:30. Pray, eat vegetarian buns, drink coffee, and draw lots.
- After leaving the temple, visit the Notre Dame Hall, which is great for taking photos.
- Afternoon:
- Go cycling in Guishan. It only takes about 10 minutes to climb to the top, where you can enjoy the magnificent view of the Yangtze River Bridge.
- Visit Qingchuan Pavilion, which is also a great place to explore and is free of charge.
- In the afternoon, go to Hanyangzao for a walk. Currently, it's mainly suitable for taking photos and strolling.
- Across from it is Qin Tai Park, which is quite large and comfortable for a walk.
- Then, visit the Wuhan Art Museum • Qintai Pavilion. Tickets are free, but you need to book in advance. It's open from 09:00 - 17:00, with entry not allowed after 16:00. There are many art installations and facilities inside, making it very suitable for checking in.
- Evening:
- Have a late - night snack in Hanyang. Enjoy delicious foods like barbecue, crab claws, and dumplings.
