GUIDE OF VISIT
Qingchuan Pavilion
Qingchuan Pavilion, one of Wuhan’s "Three Great Scenic Wonders" (alongside the Yellow Crane Tower and Guqin Platform), is located on Yugongji Ridge at the eastern foot of Guishan Mountain in Hanyang District. Overlooking the Han River to the north and the Yangtze River to the east, it faces the Yellow Crane Tower across the river. Its name originates from the Tang Dynasty poet Cui Hao’s verse, "Sunlit trees of Hanyang are clearly seen." Built during the Ming Dynasty’s Jiajing period (1522–1566) to commemorate Yu the Great’s flood control, the complex spans 10,000 square meters and features three main structures—Qingchuan Pavilion, Yu-Ji Palace, and Tiemen Pass—alongside over a dozen auxiliary buildings. Blending northern and southern architectural styles, its red-walled, vermilion-pillared structures with double-eave Xieshan roofs are hailed as a "masterpiece of Chu culture." Free to enter, visitors can ascend the pavilion for panoramic views of the Yangtze River Bridge and the waterfront.
Hanyang Marshland
Hanyang Marshland is a public recreational area along the confluence of the Yangtze and Han Rivers. Known for its natural waterfront landscapes and green spaces, it is ideal for strolling, sightseeing, and photography. Together with Hankou Marshland and Wuchang Marshland, it forms Wuhan’s "Riverfront Scenic Belt." By day, visitors enjoy the rushing river currents, while evenings bring dazzling light shows and gentle breezes.
